Celebrate National Lovers Day by traveling all over Costa Rica!

Since your girlfriend is from Costa Rica, it would make sense to spend the entire pseudo-holiday with her in Costa Rica. The country itself is filled with many romantic opportunities, perfect for couples who want to take advantage of that.

National Lovers Day isn’t Valentine’s Day, but it’s close. Valentine’s Day is for love and friendship, while this one, as the name implies, is exclusively for lovers. Couples who couldn’t enjoy February 14th because of various reasons can make up for it on National Lovers Day 2022.

Mark your calendars! Lovers Day is on April 23rd. So if you ever wanted to go on a vacation trip with your partner, you better book your tickets now.

But where are you going to go? Costa Rica isn’t exactly a small place. There are a lot of destinations worth going to, lots of scenery to take in, and plenty of restaurants and hotels to visit.

Not to worry. Here are suggestions, all of which Costa Rica prides itself on.

Visit waterfalls

Costa Rica has a lot of waterfalls. Couples often visit them to get a good look at the beauty of Mother Nature. Travelers love going to them, and there’s no denying that seeing a dramatic view lights something in us as humans.

If you don’t mind a good hike to see them, here are famous waterfalls perfect for visiting during this national relationship day:

1. La Fortuna Waterfall, Arenal Volcano

This stunning view sits close to the Arenal Volcano and has been a hot spot for travelers. If you want to get a good view of it, there are two viewing areas that show different perspectives of the waterfall.

Tip: Remember to bring a swimsuit. There’s a pool at the base, perfect for swimming, especially if the hike made you sweat a lot.

2. Llanos de Cortez Waterfall, Guanacaste

This is known to be one of their prettiest waterfalls, and it’s free. There is no need to pay for entrance fee, though they will accept donations to the local community. It’s a simple 10-minute walk from the parking lot to the falls. But you need to be careful because the trail is steep.

It’s surrounded by dense wildlife too. You will probably see monkeys and birds as you hike to the waterfalls. You may also bring your swimsuit here since the pool at the base is clean and clear. There’s even a sandy beach nearby if you wish to have a picnic there while viewing the waterfalls.

3. Nauyaca Waterfalls, South Pacific Coast

This one is known for its location, as it is remotely tucked into the deep rainforest found on the South Pacific Coast.

You have various ways of getting there. You can go on horseback, on foot, or by truck. Once you arrive, you will see that the trail is split into two. The first one brings you to the upper falls, while the other one goes to the lower parts.

The upper one gives you a stunning view. However, it is said that the lower part is where the fun is. There is a large swimming hole there that can cool you off from the hike. You can explore, relax, or swim in the area. If you’re lucky, you’ll witness some brave ones do a dive from the upper parts. READ HERE
