Which Cars Have the Hottest Tech?

Far beyond rear view cameras and Bluetooth stereos, some of the most advanced luxury model technology is now stock on many affordable entry and mid-level vehicles. In turn many modern luxury vehicles can do things that seem like science fiction. If you have spent years behind on car tech, why not trade up and experience a slice of the future today? Find out more about the tech everyone wants from five of the most advanced cars on the road today.

Lexus LS

While we all dream of owning a self-driving car, the Lexus LS luxury sedan features a small slice of autonomy available today. The Intuitive Pedestrian Detection with Active Steering system can take control of wheel, apply the brakes and override the driver’s input to help avoid accidents. A longtime staple of the Lexus luxury line, the fifth-generation LS also boasts a Mark Levinson 3D-surround sound system, 3.5-liter 450 horsepower V6 engine and the Lexus Enform remote touch screen infotainment interface with a 12.3-inch display.

Mercedes-Benz S-450

The S-Class has long been an industry leader in luxury and reliability, but the new 2018 model takes comfort to new levels with the ENERGIZING Comfort Function. Designed to maximize wellbeing and driving performance, the system optimizes climate control, seat heating/cooling, massage chair functions, ambient lighting, audio and car fragrance to create an optimal environment. The system even offers different simulated spa modes designed to promote muscle activation and balance through audio and visual cues. All of that on top of a 360-horsepower V6 twin turbo engine and driver assistance features like lane assist, a head-up display, forward collision warning and more.

Chevrolet Spark

If you are looking for a great subcompact car with a variety of standard features on a budget, look no further than the Chevrolet Spark. Priced from $13,000 to $15,000, the Spark is easily one of the best vehicles in its price range and offers a bevy of standard features including an easy-to-use infotainment system with a 7-inch touch screen with built in Wi-Fi, forward collision alert, a rearview camera and lane departure warning. The compact size and smooth acceleration from the 1.4-liter engine makes the Spark the perfect car for zipping around the city streets with great fuel economy.

Cadillac CT6

Like the Lexus LS, the Cadillac CT6 is very close to offering a truly autonomous driving experience alongside many safety and luxury features. Featuring Cadillac’s brand-new Super Cruise system, the CT6 combines adaptive cruise control, lane and blind spot monitoring systems and forward auto-braking with a self-steering function and LiDAR scanning to allow for hand and foot-free driving on multilane highways. Don’t relax too much though, as the CT6 also features a monitoring system ensuring that the driver is paying attention to the road. If that is not enough, the CT6 Premium Luxury model boasts a 404-horsepower 3.0-liter twin turbo V6 engine, a 34-speaker Bose surround sound system and 15 different massage settings.

Hyundai Genesis G80

While many new car technologies focus on safety and luxury, the Hyundai Genesis uses Augmented Reality technology to teach you more about how your car works. Download their app and point your phone or tablet’s camera at any part of the interior to be lead to one of over 135 how-to videos or 25 3-D overlay graphics explaining the function of your car. The app also isolates different parts of your engine and explains maintenance requirements. The standard G80 features a 3.3-liter supercharged V6 engine, Pedestrian Detection, Driver Attention Alert and Noise, Vibration and Harshness Cancellation to provide a smooth, quiet ride.
