Why Choosing Private Cloud Is A Smart Business Decision?

Due to lack of infrastructure, digital will be normal for every organization. And when we talk about going digital, the cloud is the first word we go for. Every business whether it’s large or small, they all have to manage huge data and applications. As digital transformation is serving the world with better than ever results, more organizations are moving towards the advantages of cloud and choosing cloud computing is indeed an option better than anything else.

The reports say that 9% of the organizations prefer on-premise private cloud and 6% go for hosted private cloud. The major reason is the cost, availability and many others which we will be explaining in the blog. But before that, let’s make it clear what private cloud actually is.

What is a private cloud?

The private cloud is defined as the computing services that are offered over the internet or a private network. A private cloud allows selecting users instead of the general public.

In the public cloud, the service provider offers resources including storage capacity, computing power or infrastructure to the businesses but in the case of private cloud, the organizations can use their own infrastructure. Adding to that, the infrastructure can be hosted within the organization or the organizations can choose an external provider.

The organizations use the private cloud because it has features that are also available in public clouds such as virtualization capabilities, allocation of computing resources and scalability.

The Reasons Why Businesses Choose Private Cloud

  • Security and Privacy

The most important aspect of using a private cloud is to improve the security level it provides. Compared to the public cloud, private cloud is more secure and the data is saved and managed on a private network that can’t be accessed by any other organization. To note all this, a private cloud provides better data security than public cloud. The IT team manages the overall server if it is on-site and the organizations don’t need to worry about the physical security of the infrastructure. In cases where the servers are located in the datacenters, the organizations IT team can access the data through secure networks.

  • Customization

Every organization has its own set of business requirements depending on the size, industry, objective and other factors. And it’s obvious that there’s no solution that suits every demand of business, but the point is to have the capacity to expand the demands according to business needs.

With a private cloud, the organizations can choose an infrastructure according to their demand considering specific storage, networking characteristics and other needs. Private cloud offers customized requirements i.e meeting every organization need.

  • Efficiency

The private clouds are generally stored in an on-site location or on a third-party data centre which is also absolutely secure and is privately hosted environment. This provides the organizations better control over their overall data and information, control their infrastructure and allows them to know if there are any changes in the setup. The organizations can themselves work and monitor application deployment thereby using better tech into their functioning. They can gain better access to their data with the help of technological advancements like predictive analytics, AI and ML therefore increasing the uptime.

  • Compliance

A private cloud can be accessed and deployed in any retention and access control environment. The organizations indeed have to run according to some rules, regulations and laws but it is easy to deploy private cloud without any hassle of compliance.

Due to its better compliance, the private cloud is of great importance. In any case of breaches or data loss, it might take a lot of time and efforts to check-in for the security logins but with the private cloud it’s easy.

  • Cost

The first concern of every organization is the overall cost and the total cost of ownership associated with the IT infrastructure. This is the bonus the organizations get while choosing a private cloud. Where public cloud is expensive, private cloud is pocket friendly with the fact that it provides similar features as the public cloud.

For example- A hyper-converged Syneto platform used as a private cloud system is less costly 10 times for the same 3 years compared to Amazon Web services.

  • Business continuity

At a time when the world and organizations believe in competition, it is impossible to conclude the existence of any of the organizations. It is not confirmed that the public cloud you chose will sustain longer than your business, they might face problems and might leave your business. But if you have a private cloud and your won infrastructure, it is sure that you will survive at all costs.

A private cloud provides privacy, customization and thus it ensures better business continuity than any other service. If your provider disappears, you will be losing everything and it’s not possible to shift to migrate to a new cloud. Choosing private cloud leaves no room for such voids.
