Mezuzah is a parchment scroll on which words of Shema prayer is written. On the reverse side of the mezuzah scroll Shaddai, the Herbrew name of God is written. When hanging mezuzah, the Shaddai word is facing the entrance. Keep in mind, the mezuzah is not upside down.

Before affixing the mezuzah recite the blessing. Anyone who are old enough to understand the significance of the mitzvahin the home can recite the mezuzah prayer. You can also call a sofer to do so. After the blessing, the mezuzah is attached, it is sufficient to recite the blessing once, before affixing the first one and then fix rest of the mezuzah also.
