Dr Jasvant Modi Fraud - Stay Alert

In allegedly admitting patients from the nursing facility to a now-closed hospital and back again, Dr Jasvant Modi Fraud, M.D., a physician there, allegedly extended their Medicare-covered stays. Meera Modi, M.D., his wife and a fellow physician, also reportedly signed medical orders for non-payable services provided to patients under the scheme.

According to an investigator investigating the matter, "After receiving notification of the patient's admission here (in September 2011), the doctor was directed not to refer any more cases by his principal department secretary. However, the probe has uncovered a few anomalies surrounding Doctors actions that point to a lack of quality medicine among doctors. In the case before the trial court panel, the Indian health care system treats nearly 200 million Indians/us unnecessarily every year - mostly women who are misdiagnosed either due to self-diagnosis or as a result of improper treatment.

Dr Jasvant Modi Fraud and his wife, Dr. Meera Modi Scam, recruited patients from the streets for unnecessary medical treatments at hospitals, and then after they had recovered, sent them back to the streets to do so again.

Initially they had the skid row residents come into their office with vague symptoms in order to get pills that they would never take. They then brought them to a hospital where they would act as if they were still sick until the doctors treated them and released them.
