Water level sensor types

What is a water level sensor?

A water level sensor is a device that measures the high or low level of liquid in a fixed vessel. According to the method of level measurement, there are two types: contact type and non-contact type. What we call an input water level transmitter is a contact measurement that converts the level height into an electrical signal output. It is a kind of water level transmitter that is widely used at present.

How does the water level sensor work?

The working principle of the water level sensor is to convert the pressure on the front surface of the sensor to the level height when it is placed at a certain depth in the liquid to be measured. The calculation formula is Ρ = ρ.g.H + Po, P is the surface pressure of the sensor, the density of the liquid ρ is measured, g is the local gravitational acceleration, Po is the surface atmospheric pressure of the liquid, and the depth sensor of H is put into the liquid.

Where to use the water level sensor?

The use of water level sensors includes the following applications.

Water level measurement in pools and tanks

River and lake level measurements

Seawater level measurement

Level measurement of acidic and alkaline liquids

Oil level measurement of fuel trucks and mailboxes

Pool water level control

Tsunami warning and sea level monitoring

Cooling tower water level control

Drain pump water level control

Remote monitoring of liquid levels
