However, in the last months of the year, Islam's most bustling city was considered significantly more important, as an estimated 2.5 million travellers receive the Hajj package and travel to their destination.

This journey, known as Hajj, is one of the five pillars of Islam. Every year hajj is held between the eighth and twelfth days of Dhul-al-Hijjah, the last month of the lunar Islamic calendar.

Hajj is mandatory once in a lifetime which is required by all financially and physically capable Muslims, to Makkah and the nearby holy sites which are Arafat, Mina, and Muzdalifah. Once there, travellers offer a progression of ceremonies to bind together themselves with different devotees, absolve themselves of their sins and worship Allah.

The history of Hajj takes us back to 2,000 BC. when Ismael, the newborn child of the prophet Ibrahim (RA). The story of Hajj started there when Allah commanded his Prophet Ibrahim to leave his wife and his son in the deserts with some water and food. And Ibrahim (AS) did it as was ordered by Allah. The little child (Ishmael) felt thirst when the sources of water ended. The mother of Ishmael (RA) started to run forward and backwards between the slopes of Safah and Marwa in search of water so that she can quench the thirst of her child. His efforts came to an end when the angel Gabriel (Gabriel) came to earth and dug a spring of freshwater for the infant with the stumbling of his wing. known as the Well of Zamzam Water.

It is said that after the command of God, Ibrahim built a monument at the site of the spring which is called Kaaba. Worshipers from all religions traveled to this place to benefit. In 630 AD, the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) led a group of Muslims on the first official pilgrimage, destroyed the idols of the polytheists, and reclaimed the place in the name of Allah (SWT). Hajj Rituals include making Hager's walk between Safa and Marwa, stoning the Jamarats Where Seduction Ibrahim to Disobey God, slaughtering an animal in honor of the sacrifice that Ibrahim.
