Why is Wild Gorewada best as per view?
Gorewada Zoo, more commonly known as it is, is planned to cover 564 ha. Currently, only the project's first phase;i.e., the public can visit Indian Safari. It stands out from other zoos because of its distinctive drive-through experience. An enclosed bus transports visitors here into the animal enclosures. In their natural environments, take pleasure in the natural beauty of wild beats.
The Gorewada Forest that surrounds the Gorewada Lake was protected to safeguard Nagpur's drinking water supply. It's a scrub forest of dry deciduous trees. In 2011 to protect this land, FDCM constructed a 29-kilometre peripheral wall, which has aided the natural restoration of the land. The biodiversity of this natural forest is diverse. Leopards, Chital, Sambar, Nilgai, Wild Boar, Langur, Rhesus Macaques, and numerous other rare and elusive animals are among the large mammals. It contains numerous invertebrates, more than 200 species of resident and migratory birds, and more than 35 varieties of reptiles. A wide variety of raptors and waterfowl can be found in the forest, making it a popular bird-watching destination.
Wild Gorewada Forest can now be explored on our guided jungle drive. You have the option of travelling in your vehicle with our guides or hiring open gypsies at the gate.
A 25-hectare drive-through exhibit is Leopard Safari. It was influenced by our tribal people who lived in the forest and had a strong connection to nature. The theme of a degraded forest landscape dominated by humans also highlights habitat restoration efforts for conservation. The safari starts in an abandoned village and goes through a tunnel that was inspired by ancient paintings and other natural wonders that show how humans have always interacted with our natural neighbours. Bear Safari shows how beautiful the savannah and deciduous forests are in nature. In this 25-Ha drive-through exhibit, our playful Sloth Bears will greet you. These gentle creatures never fail to have a good time. Enjoy spending a few moments looking more closely at their everyday lives.
Over a 40-hectare area, Herbivore Safari traverses forest, grassland, and natural streams. The world's most extraordinary deer-Sangai (Temple antlered Deer) is our award assortment. Albino bucks draw you in with their distinctively picturesque appeal. Blackbuck, Barking Deer, Spotted Deer, Sambar, Nilgai, and numerous other herbivores are additional draws. Numerous peacocks and other wild birds enjoy our inmates' company. Enjoy spending a few moments looking more closely at their everyday lives.
