PFA is widely used in semiconductor industry, machinery, food industry, chemical industry and electrical industry.

Semiconductor industry: While the integration of semiconductor components is improving, the materials for manufacturing its equipment are required to have high corrosion resistance, high heat resistance and high purity. PFA has the technical requirements to meet these three highs and has good formability, so PFA has become a raw material for equipment used in various production processes in the semiconductor industry. (1) The manufacture of large-scale integrated circuits must go through a chemical etching process. During the etching process, the carrier (carrier) of the silicon wafer is mostly made of PFA. The reason is that the above-mentioned acids and alkalis are highly corrosive. If the bracket is corroded, it will contaminate the silicon wafer, and the processing temperature is high. It also needs to have certain mechanical strength, dimensional stability, and non-stickiness at high temperatures, and the bracket has a complex shape and needs to be able to be injection molded. (2) In addition to containers of various shapes such as brackets and hanging baskets, PFA products used in the semiconductor industry also have pipes, pipe fittings, valves, pumps, flow meters, filters, etc. with a diameter of 6-50 mm.

Machinery, food industry: (1) Hose. The straight pipe is extruded from PFA resin with high relative molecular weight, and the hose made of external stainless steel wire reinforcement is more stable than PTFE hose, with longer life and unlimited length. Compared with FEP hose, it has higher temperature resistance and stress crack resistance. Therefore, PFA is more suitable for use as a hydraulic hose. PFA hoses are also used to convey various corrosive and viscous substances, and are used in food, pharmaceutical, and beverage industries. They have the advantages of longevity, cleanliness, no peculiar smell, and no pollution. (2) Non-stick application. The non-stick, heat resistance and corrosion resistance of PFA powder coatings make it wide used in the anti-sticking of copier press rollers, anti-sticking coatings of hoppers, rollers, moulds, containers, sieves and polyurethane foam molding molds of food processing machinery, etc. After the bulb is coated with PFA film, the coating film is strong at high temperature and plays a protective role, and it is not easy to adhere to oily smoke, which improves the brightness of the light and reduces the cost of cleaning and maintenance.

Chemical industry: PFA products used in the chemical industry include laboratory utensils such as beakers, flasks and washing bottles, as well as reaction canister, rectification column, storage tanks, linings and components of pipe fittings, etc. As a lining material, PFA has similar uses to FEP, and PFA has better stress crack resistance, easy welding and higher reliability.

Electrical industry: (1) wires. The wire and cable insulation layer made of PFA has a higher continuous use temperature and better stress crack resistance than FEP. Both PFA and PTFE wires can be used at 260°C, such as coaxial cables, heating wires and geothermal detection wires. In the field of coaxial cables, PFA is mainly used for ultra-thin coaxial cables with high flexibility requirements or insulation outer diameters less than 0.3 mm, and FEP is mainly used for ultra-thin coaxial cables with low flexibility requirements or insulation outer diameters greater than 0.3 mm. Coaxial cables made of PFA are suitable for electronic machines, internal wiring of small electrical equipment, and places with high requirements for bending performance, such as mobile phones and notebook computers. In terms of heating wires, PFA heating wires are more suitable for heating shorter pipelines. For example, PFA-coated SECT wires can be heated to 120-150 °C to transport heavy oil. In terms of special wires, in geothermal power stations, the ground temperature at 3km underground is above 300°C, and hydrogen sulfide exists. Therefore, the cables used for geothermal exploration must be able to withstand the corrosion of high-temperature steam and hydrogen sulfide gas for a long time, and only PFA cables are more suitable. (2) Electrical and electronic equipment. PFA parts used in electrical and electronic equipment include PFA films, tubes, heat-shrinkable tubes and injection molded parts. For example, PFA electrode holders are used for liquid level control parts of high-temperature and high-pressure containers such as boilers.
