If you ever wanted to make sure that your electrical product you want to sell has better efficiency, now is the time you have focus solely on it. With Star rating ruling whether or not a customer buys or trashes your product, you’d be a fool not to understand the intricacies of BEE registration process.

So through this article, we are going to show you how BEE registration process looks like

First, you accumulate all the required documents

Before you accumulate the documents, you should know something. BEE certification process happens in stages. The first stage is registration for the brand, and the second stage is registration for the model.

The documents required for the first stage are as follows:

  • Trademark registration certificate: For the Bureau of Energy efficiency to register your brand, your brand should be the registered first by the IP authorities. So, the first thing you’re going to need is a trademark registration certificate.
  • Details of the manufacturing facility: The details of the manufacturing facility include everything from the architecture of the building to the machinery present there.
  • BIS certification: If one has the BIS standard certificate, he has to present it to the BEE body. In the best case scenario, you might get a good star rating for your product.
  • Quality Management Certificate: the ISO 9001 certificate is mandatory for any business, you require it too for BEE certificate registration.
  • SSI certificate: Want to enhance your chances of getting a good star rating? Get small scale industry certificate. It will also reduce the BEE registration cost.
  • Product Samples for testing: Send one of the products bearing the brand for testing. The testing process, once completed, will give you a rough idea of the star rating you’ll get.

The documents for BEE model registration – the second stage:

  • Cover Letter: make your case about getting a star rating. Make a snappy, coherent and precise cover letter.
  • Test report: Pre-test the energy efficiency of your product. Make sure that the lab you’re getting the test reports from is accredited by NABL.
  • Declaration: Declare that you believe in the readings, and the documents.
  • Specimen of the model: Send a sample of the product you want the BEE certification for.
  • Agreement: Send a signed agreement that you’d respect BEE’s decision, regardless of how you feel about it.

Then, you’ll file the application

After you’ve accumulated all the required documents for brand and model level registration, you’ll file the application. The process is online, but the information you have to place is precise. So, take care and if place your bets on a BEE consultant to get the star rating you deserve.

Application processing is initiated

The BEE will test the product(s) at both stages. It will also match it’s result with the test report you’ve submitted. In case of any discrepancy, rejection will be yours to face. But in case no issues are present, you’ll be graced with a BEE certificate.

Conclusion

BEE registration process is one that every electronic and electrical product manufacturer is now compelled to take on. Are you one of them? Don’t feel compelled for it. Just feel relaxed and reach out to your nearest consultant for any information you’re looking for.
